There are many homemade remedies you can make and can be much better alternative than store bought medications. Here is one that you can give it a shot too. I know the change in season can sometimes bring colds and so with winter coming up it might be nice to share this one out there.
It is pretty easy to make it. It will become a tea by the end of it but it starts out by combining some ingredients together and setting in the fridge.
How to make it!?
The first thing you need is a mason jar or some other type of glass jar. I prefer using organic ingredients as often as I can so if you can, use it for this as well. Now, you need lemons. Cut up enough lemon into slices so that it fills roughly half to three-quarters of the jar you are preparing. Then, add in several slices of ginger to the mixture. I imagine this could be done to taste as some like a lot of ginger and others like a little. Feel free to experiment with the amount of it. Fill the remainder of the jar with organic honey. It is important to be sure to use a good quality honey as a lot of honey sold these days is not even honey! Once you are done, close up the jar and put it into the fridge until it forms into a jelly.
When you want to use the mixture, boil some water and put about a teaspoon of the jelly into a mug. Add the water and then grab a good book and enjoy.
I definitely love this homemade remedy every time I have problem with a sore throat. It helps me a lot.
Note: I am not huge into canning so I don’t know how long this can store in the fridge for, but be sure to keep an eye on it after 2-3 months.
